When the chase begins, the Dead go hunting and the Undead make a run for the stage. Pick your side and become part of one of the most memorable moments of the night.
It is not about the scariest mask — it is about committing to the bit. A good zombie shuffles, groans and chases with theatrical flair, working the crowd as hard as the course. If you can bring the drama (and keep it family-friendly), there is a spot waiting for you on the chase.
Move slow and deliberate — the Dead do not sprint, they lurch, and that is exactly what makes the chase fun to watch. Groan, stumble, reach for the runners as they pass, and stay in character all the way to the stage. The best zombies are not the ones who catch the most Undead; they are the ones the crowd is still talking about after the run. And if chasing is not your thing, the Undead need convincing runners too — no costume required, just a good sprint and a flair for the dramatic escape.
Zombie Run registration has closed and tickets are no longer available. Team kits and shirts were ordered in advance, so there's no gate or day-of option either — but general admission to BBQ & Boo is still available.
Every paid Zombie Run participant gets a full team kit at check-in — an event t-shirt, a drawstring bag and a fun “zombie ID” card, branded for the side you chose.
Shirts and bags are printed “Infected” — same team, legacy artwork.
Shirts and bags are printed “Survivor” — same team, legacy artwork.
We need participants on both sides of the chase. The route takes place across a small designated area of the fairgrounds and finishes by the stage, where the crowd can watch the final stretch.
The Dead are the chasers. If you sign up for this side, come dressed as a zombie and be ready to pursue the Undead across the course.
The Undead are the runners. Participants on this side should not be in costume — your job is simple: get across the course before the Dead catch up.
The Dead and the Undead report to their designated starting areas before the chase begins.
The non-costumed runners get the first move across the designated Zombie Run course.
The zombie participants follow and chase the runners toward the final stretch.
The chase ends near the stage so spectators can see the conclusion of the Zombie Run.
Let's be clear: this is not a run or a 5K. It's a short, theatrical mock chase spanning approximately 500 feet, staying within a defined area of the fairgrounds and finishing at the stage where the crowd can watch.
Date: Saturday, October 24.
Start Time: To be announced.
Distance: Approximately 500 feet — a mock chase, not a competitive run or 5K.

Despite the name, Zombie Run is not a competitive run or 5K — it's a short mock chase covering approximately 500 feet. Zombie Run is a separate paid registration — every participant, regardless of age or costume, must have a paid Zombie Run ticket from tickets.html to take part. This is different from general BBQ & Boo admission: kids 12 & under who get in free with general admission still need a paid Zombie Run ticket to run. Additional age requirements, check-in instructions, waivers, safety information and costume guidance to be announced.
